It's totally understandable that students worry when preparing to study abroad. You have many questions regarding your education and life abroad - choosing the right course, country, and university, making applications, obtaining a study visa, and most importantly, your safety. Often, you are clueless about where to begin and what questions to ask to make the right decision. We have compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions with regards to studying abroad. 

  1. Can studying abroad help me advance my career?

Fortunately, studying abroad can improve your career by boosting your self-confidence. Other skills such as language, communication, adapting to unexpected situations, and leadership will also help you become more confident.

  1. How long do study abroad programs take?

The length of time you spend studying abroad will depend on your programme and the course you're pursuing. In general, 

  • An undergraduate degree will take 3 or 4 years of full-time study

  • A graduate degree such as a master’s degree or equivalent will take 1 or 2 years

  • A doctoral (Ph.D.) program will usually take 3 to 4 years.

  1. Are O/L results alone enough to apply?

Yes, you can apply with standard O/L results and start with the foundation year.

  1. Is IELTS necessary to study abroad?

The IELTS exam is not mandatory for students planning to study in the UK as few of our partner universities offer exemptions, but for students planning to study in Canada, it is compulsory. 

  1. Can I work while studying?

Yes, you can work while studying. You will have a 20-hour work permit per week.

  1. Is it possible to apply to more than one university or course in my preferred destination country?

There are no restrictions on applying to multiple universities. Rather, it's smart of you to do so - provided the courses are similar - as it increases your chances of being accepted. 

  1. Do I have to apply for the Student Visa?

Obtaining a student visa is the final step in the process of studying abroad. A student visa must be applied for after you are accepted to a university and have met all of the university's requirements.   1. How many intakes do universities in the UK offer?

It greatly depends on the university. However, most universities offer their programmes both in September and in January. Usually, bachelor's programmes start in September, and master's programmes start on multiple dates and are more flexible.
